On this page you will find presentations which aim to give you basic information about the pronunciation of fast speech, or 'connected speech'. There are no sound files in the presentations but they should be a starting point for 'self-study' (e.g.using the books recommended on this page).

Connected Speech

The guides below present an introduction on how to improve rhythm when you speak English. Improving rhythm can help you sound more natural. There are 3 main aspects of natural-sounding English. These are: sound changes, stress, and intonation.
